Hack4Kids raised awareness about backdoor and its potential risks

In the frame of the institutions’ public open house, SECURITYMADEIN.LU, in partnership with the Representation of the European Commission in Luxembourg, organized, a Hack4Kids Experience for families at the Maison de l'Union européenne on Saturday 24th September 2016. This atypical event was composed of three sessions of 30 minutes each (French, English and German) which gathered around forty children aged from 7 to 12 years old as well as their parents. The goal of this Hack4Kids Experience was to raise awareness about backdoor potential security risks. Matthieu Farcot, responsible for general public activities at SECURITYMADEIN.LU and Steve Clement, expert in information security at SECURITYMADEIN.LU, tackled this topic in an original way by mixing ancient history and today reality. The two speakers did a demonstration to display the 3D printing of a TSA keys which is used to open most of the commercialized luggage. A SECURITYMADEIN.LU stand was also set up for the occasion in order to display the Hack4Kids activities to the visitors.
